Halo resides at his foster mom's home. Please e-mail info@sheltertohome.com for an application, more information or to set up an appointment to meet him. Hi my name is Halo. I am looking for my Forever Home. But before you get caught up in my Heavenly Handsomeness, there are a few things you should know about me. I have a little bit of the Devil in me and my halo is a bit crooked at times. =^..^= When Halo was rescued from an overcrowded Animal Control where he had been for a very long time, he was in horrible shape. He could barely stand and couldn't walk in a straight line. His head was tilted from a severe deep ear infection that affected him so badly he couldn't hear. He was covered in fleas and his fur was very thin and sparse. He also suffered from Upper Respiratory Infection and he tested positive for FIV. It took months of care and veterinary treatment before he was feeling better. Due to the severity of his illnesses he still has a slight head tilt and runny eye but is healthy. Halo is a very Beautiful Boy, estimated to be about 7 years old. He likes to have his cheeks scratched and to be brushed. He is active and playful, and will play with you or by himself with toys. He enjoys watching the world outside the window and climbing his cat tree. He Greatly Enjoys being by your side for pets and affection. Now comes the Crooked Halo part: Although very active and playful, he has a tendency to get over stimulated, at which time he may bite or scratch. Halo does not like to be picked up or held. He is very difficult to trim nails or medicate when needed. Because of this we feel it is best he go to a home with an Experienced cat owner willing to accept him as he is and has no small children. Because of his FIV status, it is recommended he be an only cat or live with other FIV+ cats. Halo has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV, dewormed, treated for fleas and is up to date on vaccines. He is ready to go to his Forever Home! **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $100 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion.**
